ELN Warming Up to Peace and Dialogue; Will Participate in Quito Conference
ELN, after FARC the second largest guerrilla insurgent group in Colombia, announced reiterated their commitment to peace and dialogue with the national government of Juan Manuel Santos.
According to a TeleSur Report, the insurgents said that, “Despite the difficult climate and conditions which impede the peace process, we will promptly arrive to the appointment between our two delegations. We hope that by then, the government will have officially appointed its delegation” to the Quito conference scheduled to start January 10.
But while the guerrilla group also denounced what it sees as the government’s unilaterally imposed conditions.
