FARC and Government Reach Agreement on National Program to Substitute Illicit Crops (S)

Point four of the peace agreements signed in Havana, calls for the beginning of the implementation of the National Program for the Substitution of Crops for Illicit Use, known by its initials PNIS, and which was announced in Havana on January 27. The program, with the ambitious goal of replacing crops in 50,000 hectares planted, will function according to a structure composed of delegates from peasant communities, citizen monitors, FARC-EP members in transition to civilian life and government officials national.
