Socialist International World Gathering in Cartagena; Santos to Address Meeting (S)
Under the slogan “For a world in peace, with equality and solidarity,” Social Democrats from all over the planet will meet March 2-5 in Cartagena, Colombia. The inaugural ceremony will include an address by Juan Manuel Santos, the president of the Socialist International (IS), the former Greek Prime Minister Yorgos Papandreu, and the secretary general of the organization, the Chilean Luis Ayala, among others.
Also in attendance Chilean senator Isabel Allende and the president of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Miguel Vargas, who chairs the organization’s Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean.
