At the UN Forum: Colombia Will Ask the World Support for Implementation of Peace Deal (S)
Starting on Monday, Colombia intends to take advantage of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs to “sensitize” the international community “on the importance of supporting the implementation” of the peace process with FARC, especially on the issue of Drugs. This was reported on Sunday by the Foreign Ministry, providing details of the Colombian participation in the 60th regular session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs, of which Colombia is a member.
To that end, Colombia will continue to “advocate” for a “change of global strategy” in addressing the problem of illicit drugs, which will continue to be discussed in the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs. The idea is to advance toward the goals proposed for 2019, to eliminate “or significantly reduce the consumption, crops, production, traffic and money laundering.” El Tiempo Pictured: Foreign Minister María Angela Holguín
