International Support Has Fostered Confidence in Peace Process: High Commissioner for Post-Conflict

International support has helped build domestic and international confidence in the Colombian government’s peace process with FARC guerrillas, according to Rafael Pardo, the country’s high commissioner for post-conflict. In an interview with Efe in Rome, where he participates in the biennial meeting of the Conference of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Pardo said that the process has received the ¬†international community’s “unanimous support” from both multilateral organizations and neighboring countries. “The peace process has had a number of guarantors and companions who have been very important in building trust not only for the parties but also for the international community,” said the high commissioner.
